This Cookie Policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies on nrgsolar.co.uk, and how you control them. Nothing beyond the strictly necessary category is set unless you agree to it first.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar browser storage, such as local storage and session storage, and we treat that the same way as cookies for the purpose of asking your permission.
Strictly necessary
These are required for the site to work and cannot be switched off. We store one item in this category: a record of your cookie choices, held in your browser's local storage under the name nrg-consent. It holds whether you allowed analytics, whether you allowed marketing, and the date and time you chose. It is not shared with anyone.
Analytics
Only set once you allow them. When allowed, we load Google Tag Manager, which in turn loads Google Analytics 4. These measure page views, how far people get through the solar calculator, and which pages lead to an enquiry. We also mirror your campaign information into session storage under the name nrg_attribution so that a form submitted later in your visit is credited correctly. If you decline analytics, none of this is written to your device.
Marketing
Only set once you allow them. When allowed, Google Tag Manager may load Google Ads conversion measurement and remarketing tags. These let us see which adverts led to an enquiry and show relevant adverts to you on other sites. If you decline marketing, Google Consent Mode keeps advertising storage denied and advertising identifiers redacted.
Google Consent Mode
We use Google Consent Mode v2. Before any tag is allowed to load, analytics storage, advertising storage, advertising user data and advertising personalisation are all set to denied. They are updated only when you grant the matching category. While consent is denied we enable URL passthrough and advertising data redaction.
Enquiry forms
If you decline cookies and then send us an enquiry, we still read any campaign information present in the web address of the page you are on and attach it to that enquiry. That is because you are choosing at that moment to be contacted about it, and it forms part of the record of where the enquiry came from. Nothing is stored on your device to do this.
Changing your mind
You can change your choices at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page, or by using the button below. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may then behave differently.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date above shows when the most recent change was made.
