For any question about this policy or about how we handle your personal data, contact aaron@nrgsolar.co.uk.
2. What data we collect
When you use our solar feasibility tool or contact us, we may collect:
- Your name and contact details (email address, phone number)
- Business or property name and address
- Energy usage information (monthly spend, unit rate)
- Roof area and property data you provide or trace using our mapping tool
3. How we use your data
We use your information to:
- Generate your personalised solar feasibility report
- Follow up with you regarding your commercial solar enquiry
- Connect you with a suitable vetted solar installer in your area
- Improve our services
4. Who we share your data with
The purpose of our service is to introduce your enquiry to a suitable installer. Where you ask us to do so, we will share the details you have given us, including your name, contact details, business address and the information you provided about your site and energy use, with one installer selected from our vetted network.
That installer is an independent business and becomes a separate data controller in respect of your information from the point we pass it on. It will handle your data under its own privacy policy, and we will tell you which installer has received your details so that you can review it. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with more than one installer without asking you first.
We also share personal data with the service providers that operate our website, hosting, email and customer records. These act as our processors and handle your data only on our instructions.
5. Our lawful basis for using your data
- Providing the assessment and introduction you asked for: performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request before entering into one.
- Contacting you about your enquiry, and passing your details to an installer: your consent, given when you submit the assessment form. You can withdraw it at any time by contacting aaron@nrgsolar.co.uk, though this will not affect anything done before you withdrew it, and cannot recall data already passed to an installer.
- Keeping records, preventing fraud and improving our service: our legitimate interests in operating the business, balanced against your rights.
6. International transfers
Where data is transferred outside the UK, appropriate safeguards are in place including Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. How long we keep your data
We retain enquiry data for 3 years from your last contact with us, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Where we have introduced you to an installer, we keep a record of that introduction for as long as necessary to administer the fee due to us and to meet our accounting obligations.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access your personal data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased, to restrict or object to our processing of it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where consent is our basis. To exercise any of these, contact aaron@nrgsolar.co.uk. Where your data has already been passed to an installer, you will need to contact that installer directly in respect of the data it holds, and we will tell you who they are.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page.
